Alex
My subject:
I don’t belong to English
It seems to be a smeared draft, and sometimes the fact that the light is distorted slips away the memories I used to have
Lying, thinking yearning to hear the words of spilled dry paint dug in the sand
Struggling to remember why
Why it feels.
How it feels.
To know the words
A thousand winds blow with no range or shame
It is a battle I have known by heart
Yet the diamond, jeweled mirrors scribbled with my alphabets shine at the desk.
We learned how to swim and how to become unbuttoned from the drafts.
I could not stop for mornings hush.
But nobody, but nobody can make it out here alone
The carriage of obstacles kindly stopped for me
Fingerprints erased the polished mirrors
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints of snow.
Expect nothing. Live frugally.
On surprise.
