Used Mozilla Popcorn Maker to remix sushi videos into my own somewhat bizarre ‘how to’ video.
How to make a gif file from a youtube video and add text to the final product.
I decided to mashup my #CLMOOC make with my other side project EdConteXts and make a “How to” which could double up as a EdConteXts promo vid.
Made the recipe found here and decided it would be helpful to have pictures. I originally did this visual teaching with WeChat , but I am trying a re-purposing in Hackpad.
My 9-year old daughter is off to camp tomorrow and, being a part of the Green Team, needed all things green…including her hair. And since we weren’t quite ready for a $40 dye job, she researched temporary dyeing and came up with this idea. She mixed 5 packages of lemon-lime Kool-Aid (choose your favorite flavor) with about 8 ounces of water in two small bowls. The less water, the deeper the color. She then put her hair into pig tails, dipped the two ends in the bowls for 5 minutes, then rinsed them in the same two bowls filled with… Read more »
This remix project from PBS Studies continues its work around remixing the Mr. Rogers archives with modern beats and rhythms. Now, the maker of the remix is you. Using the sound clips provided by PBS (or maybe, use a few of your own), you create a new soundtrack for the Mister Rogers Remix: Music. (See video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdAZ79AhcfY&feature=youtu.be) The remixing effort will create a bank of new songs for the original remix video. You’re remixing the remix. If you want to go one step further, try using the Mozilla Popcorn Maker video tool, and mix your soundtrack with the YouTube video…. Read more »
In correlation with the “toy hacking,” video game hacking can begin with some classic arcade games as “mentor texts” that one can build upon. A nice element of the classics is that design and play are relatively simple, due no doubt to the constraints of technology of the time. Revisit some of the old arcade games — http://www.classicgamesarcade.com/ — and find a favorite. Next, either build a board game version of the video game, or use a video game design site like Gamestar Mechanic – http://gamestarmechanic.com/ – to build your own version of a classic arcade game. Consider ways you… Read more »
Grab a few unused toys from around the house and tools you can use to take them apart. Feel free to gather your favorite crafting supplies, as well. Disassemble the toys and reassemble them in a new way (with added craft supplies), perhaps to make a visual pun. Share out your work on your favorite social network. If you love this, try to start a chain of toy hacks, remixes of your work, or even a kitchen-table or virtual toy hacking workshop with friends. If you’d like to take this idea further, try it with electronic or mechanical toys and… Read more »
